Barcelona is once again the epicentre of the collectibles fever: Pop Mart will open a new shop on Avinguda Diagonal, consolidating the passion for Labubu and other characters that have already revolutionised the city. The arrival of this third store not only expands the offering for fans, but transforms the shopping experience into a social and urban event, where queues and excitement have become part of Barcelona’s landscape.

The new space, located in the former Pedralbes Centre, occupies two floors and 140 square metres within the El Dau building, at number 609 on Diagonal. The Chinese brand has opted for a strategic location, in the heart of an office and commercial area, seeking to attract both veteran collectors and those approaching this universe of surprise figures and limited editions for the first time.

The official opening will be on Wednesday 11 March at 10:00. It is expected that, as on previous occasions, the most loyal followers will arrive early to secure the most coveted pieces. Molly, Dimoo, Kullpanda, The Monsters (Labubu) and Hirono dolls will be available in an environment designed to surprise and immerse visitors in the Pop Mart world.

The brand’s expansion in Barcelona has been meteoric. From the first shop on Portal de l’Àngel, which attracted long queues of collectors and resellers, to the second opening on Carrer de Pelai, the city has responded enthusiastically. Scenes of followers waiting for hours, even from the early hours of the morning, have been repeated, reflecting the intensity of the local community.

The Labubu phenomenon, created by Kasing Lung, has turned buying these plush toys into a true urban adventure. The appeal of sealed boxes, exclusive collaborations and the possibility of exchanging figures has generated an active market and a culture of its own around these characters. Barcelona, with its energy and diversity, has become the perfect setting for this collectors’ fever.

Pop Mart was born in Beijing in 2010 and, since then, has grown to become a global benchmark in contemporary collecting. Its strategy of central locations and immersive experiences has been key to connecting with audiences of all ages. In Barcelona, the brand has found a passionate and dynamic community capable of turning every opening into an urban event.
