L’Americana Film Fest 2026 brings the best US indie cinema to Barcelona

L’Americana Film Fest 2026 is already warming up in Barcelona. The essential event for lovers of North American independent cinema will hold its 13th edition from 10 to 15 March, bringing to the Girona, Texas and Zumzeig cinemas a selection of the most acclaimed films from the United States.

The festival has announced the first two titles in its programme: Twinless, by James Sweeney, a queer black comedy that swept Sundance and has three Independent Spirit Awards nominations, and Rebuilding, by Max Walker-Silverman, a drama starring Josh O’Connor set in small-town America and also awarded at Sundance. The specific dates and venues for screenings of both films will be confirmed soon.

Among the major attractions of this edition is the presence of the Ross Brothers, Bill Ross IV and Turner Ross, makers of iconic titles such as Bloody Nose Empty Pockets and Gasoline Rainbow. The filmmakers will present their films in a special retrospective organised with the Filmoteca.

Individual tickets will cost €8, and passes for the entire festival, including two admissions for the opening gala, will cost €85. A shared pass for six tickets for €40 is also now available.
