The most iconic Spanish pop lyrics take over Instituto Cervantes
Madrid gains a different cultural plan in the city centre: Instituto Cervantes hosts a free exhibition inviting visitors to read song lyrics as though they were poetry. The proposal changes the way people approach music and turns familiar words into texts with new life.
Under the title The Best Lyrics in Spanish, the exhibition brings together excerpts by artists such as José Luis Perales, Miguel Ríos, Rosana, Manolo García, Luz Casal and Christina Rosenvinge, alongside more recent voices such as Valeria Castro and El Chojín. Without background music, the lyrics are presented as literary pieces capable of moving people on their own.
The route proposes a journey through decades of Spanish-language music, where each text connects with collective memory and everyday experiences. The collaboration with Apple Music strengthens the link between digital culture and artistic heritage.
The exhibition will be open until 21 June, with free admission from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 11:00 to 16:00. An accessible opportunity for those looking for cultural plans without leaving the centre.
