Loquillo reveals how Barcelona remains his secret and vital refuge

Loquillo, one of the most emblematic figures in Spanish rock, has shared how Barcelona remains his intimate refuge, the only place where he can switch off from public exposure and reconnect with himself. Despite being in the final stretch of his extensive national tour and having recently released a collaborations album, the artist says the Catalan capital continues to shape his life decisively.

The singer, who was born in Barcelona, recalls that walking through neighbourhoods such as the Born or Gràcia offers him a mixture of nostalgia and renewal. These walks allow him to reconnect with his roots and regain emotional balance. Although he acknowledges that maintaining privacy is not easy as a public figure, he says the city gives him a sense of freedom impossible to find elsewhere.

In an interview, Loquillo recalled leaving Barcelona in 2004 for professional and political reasons, a decision that did not prevent his bond with the city from remaining intact. His lifelong friends are, according to him, an essential support that allows him to move about without pressure and feel “like anyone else”.

Loquillo is currently about to conclude his tour, which began in August in Pontevedra and will culminate on 27 December at the Sant Jordi Club de Barcelona. In addition, this autumn he released Corazones legendarios, an album that revisits his greatest hits alongside artists such as Dani Martín y Alaska, consolidating a stage of musical maturity deeply connected to his hometown.
