Mistakes you must not make when getting to Barcelona Airport

Metro, Aerobús, Rodalies, taxi, VTC or your own car: Barcelona offers several ways to get to the airport. The best one depends on the departure terminal, the number of passengers, the luggage and, above all, the time of the flight.

For families, groups with several suitcases or passengers flying very early, one option is to go directly by car. Before doing so, it is worth looking for cheap Barcelona airport parking and comparing the different alternatives. Aerobús de Barcelona is one of the most frequently used options for travelling between the centre and El Prat. It connects central points with the terminals and avoids having to make numerous changes with luggage.

A1 → Terminal 1

A2 → Terminal 2

The easiest mistake is to get on the first aerobús that appears without checking the number.

Before getting in, check whether you need A1 or A2. If you have doubts, check the terminal indicated by the airline once more.

For those staying near Plaça de Catalunya, Plaça d'Espanya or one of its stops, it can be one of the simplest ways to get to Aeropuerto de Barcelona.

6. Taking a taxi at rush hour without allowing for traffic

Taking a taxi to Barcelona airport has an advantage that is hard to beat: the journey starts at the door of the accommodation and ends directly in front of the relevant terminal.

But the duration depends on traffic.

At rush hour, traffic queues can occur both within Barcelona and on the airport access roads, including the C-31. Accidents, works, demonstrations or major events held in the city can also have an impact.

For this reason, you should not calculate the departure time using only the time shown by the navigation app in ideal conditions.

Finally, your own car provides flexibility and can be especially suitable for families, groups, travellers with a lot of luggage and flights at difficult times. In this case, it is advisable to compare and reserve parking before the day of departure.

T1 or T2: check the terminal before leaving

A large part of the problems when arriving at Barcelona airport begin with the same oversight: not checking the terminal.
