On Tuesdays, cinema speaks in a senior key: €2 tickets for over-65s

People over 65 will be able to enjoy the cinema throughout Spain for just 2 euros, at nearly 400 cinemas with more than 2,900 screens.

The initiative, promoted by the Ministerio de Cultura, is becoming established as a bridge between generations and a boost for cinemas, which remain at the heart of film. In contrast to home screens, this proposal brings senior audiences back to the unique experience of shared cinema, the red seat, and the big screen.

For the first time, the programme will run all year and tickets can be bought both at the box office and online, aiming to remove barriers to access. With a public investment of 8.5 million euros, this edition is strongly committed to ageless culture and to keeping the ritual of cinema alive among those who have already seen many films—and still want to see more.
