Spain's capital transforms this weekend into a scene of excitement as the Three Kings arrive in its neighbourhoods. Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar will travel along Madrid's main streets, accompanied by their pages, before the grand central parade on Monday 5 January, which will set off at 18:00 from Nuevos Ministerios and finish at Plaza de Cibeles after crossing the Paseo de la Castellana and Recoletos.
On Saturday and Sunday, the city's districts are organising their own parades to bring the magic closer to residents. Chamartín opened the celebrations on Saturday at 17:00, with a route from Pío XII to Berlin Park, passing through Príncipe de Vergara, López de Hoyos, Nieremberg and Marcenado. In Hortaleza, the procession set off from Centro Cultural Sanchinarro at the same time.
In Fuencarral-El Pardo, Las Tablas held its parade on Saturday at 17:30 from the Health Centre, while Montecarmelo and Barrio del Pilar will do so on Sunday at 17:30 from Avenida del Monasterio de Silos. Ciudad Lineal, Carabanchel, Moratalaz and San Blas-Canillejas will also hold their parades on Sunday from 17:30, each with its own starting point.
On Sunday, Tetuán will begin its parade at 18:00 from Bravo Murillo, and Usera will do so at 17:00 from Centro Cultural San Fermín. Villa de Vallecas will set off at 17:30 from Rayo Vallecano de Madrid Street, while Moncloa-Aravaca will begin at 18:30 near Centro Deportivo Municipal Alfredo Goyeneche.
On Monday, the eve of Epiphany, Latina will open the day at 17:00 from Paseo de Extremadura. Puente de Vallecas and Barajas will begin their routes at 18:00, from Jardín Campo de la Paloma and Avenida de Logroño respectively. El Cañaveral will get under way at 16:00 from Victoria Kent Street, and Vicálvaro will do so at 18:00 from Centro Cultural de Valdebernardo. Villaverde and San Cristóbal de los Ángeles complete the programme with departures at 17:30 and 18:00.
