Madrid freezes fares and extends public transport discounts until 2026
Madrid will keep 2026 transport prices with the current discounts, allowing children, young people and older people to travel free, the Regional Transport Consortium confirms.
The Comunidad de Madrid has decided to keep current public transport fares in place throughout 2026, extending the existing discounts. This was announced on Monday by the Consorcio Regional de Transportes, which confirmed that there will be no fare increases next year.
The measure especially benefits children under 7, young people up to 14, and those over 65, who will continue to travel for free across the region. The aim is to make getting around easier and ease the financial burden on Madrid families.
