Madrid launches an immersive journey through the human body in September
From 11 September, Madrid will host the world premiere of Human Universe – The Experience, an immersive exhibition that proposes a journey through the inside of the human body using virtual reality, 3D images, projections and interactive spaces. It can be visited at Espacio Delicias, next to the Railway Museum, until 7 January 2027.
The tour lasts approximately 70 minutes and is spread across six rooms. The proposal begins in a fictional facility called Base Génesis, from which visitors begin a journey through subjects such as human evolution, the circulatory system, brain activity and the functioning of the immune system.
Technology is one of the central parts of the experience. The installation combines virtual reality headsets, mapping, animations, three-dimensional images and interactive screens to recreate processes of the body that normally cannot be observed directly.
Among the scenes announced by the organisers are journeys through the inside of arteries and representations of the brain and neural activity. The project has been developed by a team including specialists in anatomy and science communication, alongside screenwriters, designers and 3D artists.
Madrid will not simply be a stop for an exhibition already on tour. The opening in Delicias will be the project’s world premiere, after which it is planned to travel to other Spanish cities and, later, to other countries. That premiere status sets the proposal apart from other immersive experiences already operating in the capital.
Human Universe will be available in Spanish and English, and Turismo de Madrid recommends the experience for ages 10 and over. General tickets for people aged 13 to 64 start at €21.38; junior tickets start at €15.70 and the rate for people over 65 starts at €17.86. Children under three can enter free of charge.
The exhibition will open from Wednesday to Sunday. On Wednesdays and Thursdays it will run from 16:00 to 19:30; on Fridays, until 20:00; and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays it will have morning sessions, from 11:00 to 13:30, and afternoon sessions, from 16:00 to 20:00.
Espacio Delicias is located at paseo de las Delicias, 61, with access from the area around Museo del Ferrocarril. The nearest Metro station is Delicias, on L3, and it can also be reached by Cercanías to Madrid-Delicias.
The first day will be Friday 11 September. From then on, the experience will remain in Madrid for four months before closing on 7 January and continuing the itinerary planned by its organisers.
