Madrid invests 1.6 million to bring Capilla de Los Lujanes back to life

The Comunidad de Madrid has announced an investment of 1.6 million euros for the comprehensive restoration of the Capilla del colegio de Los Lujanes, located at the Finca de Vista Alegre, in the heart of Carabanchel. This building, currently unused and in a state of deterioration, will be rehabilitated to preserve its heritage and cultural value.

The chapel, which had been forgotten for years, is located on one of the area's most emblematic historic estates. With this intervention, the regional government seeks to rescue from abandonment a space that forms part of the memory of Carabanchel and the city of Madrid.

The rehabilitation will make it possible to bring life back to a building that had fallen into oblivion, restoring its splendour and opening the door to new cultural or social uses. The action forms part of the Comunidad de Madrid's commitment to conserving historic heritage.
