Madrid prepares a world record: the longest turrón and a share for everyone
A turrón tens of metres long will appear in Puerta del Sol, and everyone will be able to try it completely free of charge.
This Friday, Madrid will become the sweet centre of the world: at the Real Casa de Correos, in Puerta del Sol, the longest turrón on the planet will be made. It will stretch for dozens of metres and will be handed out for free from 11:00 on Calle del Correo.
Master pastry chefs from Madrid and the Canary Islands have joined forces to create this historic gastronomic fantasy. The turrón is made with local ingredients: freeze-dried strawberries from Aranjuez, honey and pistachios bearing the Madrid brand, Maykhel chocolate, and a Canary Islands touch with banana, gofio, and almonds from Santiago del Teide.
The event aims not only to set a record, but also to attract residents and tourists to celebrate unity, support local producers, and create a festive atmosphere from the beginning of November.
