Madrid recovers the Real Casa de Campo

Madrid is preparing for the opening of Casa de los Vargas, a historic mansion and secret garden that has remained closed to the public for almost two decades. After its restoration, it will become an important botanical and cultural asset for the capital.

The garden, created in the 16th century, will come to life following modern principles of sustainability. Trees, shrubs, rose bushes and fruit trees will be planted here, and the geometric flowerbeds, aromatic plants and orange trees will restore the atmosphere of the court's Renaissance gardens.

Nearby, the distinctive Gallery of Mockery will open, a grotto with fountains and ingenious water devices that once surprised visitors. The site will be completed with paths, rest areas and historical interpretation areas, highlighting the place's cultural importance.

The opening is planned for 2027 and will be one of the most outstanding cultural initiatives of recent years, restoring this historic and botanical masterpiece to Madrid.
