Madrid makes the most of the final days of free Mario experiences before the 1 April premiere

Madrid faces the final weekends of its free Mario experiences with a giant stained-glass window in Príncipe Pío, an immersive cube in La Vaguada and the film premiere scheduled for 1 April.

Final weekends to enjoy interactive areas (Príncipe Pío until 29 Mar; La Vaguada 20–29 Mar). Madrid fills with Mario ahead of the release of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie (1 Apr). Príncipe Pío: giant Princess Peach window display (free photo). La Vaguada: immersive question-mark cube (360° sound/screens; Mon–Fri 11:30–14:30/16:00–21:00; Sat 10:00–22:00; free, web booking). Cinemas: Yoshi popcorn cubes (release collectables).

At Centro Comercial Príncipe Pío, a large window display dedicated to Princess Peach has become one of the week’s most photographed spots. The installation will be available until 29 March and attracts both followers of the series and people passing through the station.

La Vaguada, for its part, is hosting an immersive experience with a giant cube inspired by the game’s classic question-mark blocks. The space combines surround sound and visual elements to recreate the Mario universe, with free access during shopping-centre opening hours.

The expectation has also moved to cinemas, where themed popcorn cubes — especially Yoshi’s — are already emerging as one of the products most sought after by collectors and fans.

This type of initiative reinforces a trend in the city: turning retail spaces into sites for cultural experience and entertainment. Madrid is thus expanding its range of plans, increasingly integrating themed leisure into everyday life.

The arrival of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is transforming leisure in Madrid with new experiences in everyday spaces. Several shopping centres have become themed settings where fans can enter the universe of the popular video game before its cinema release on 1 April.
