Meditation among whales: Madrid’s most sensory exhibition offers a unique experience this 15 July

Espacio Fundación Telefónica will host a free guided-meditation session as part of its immersive exhibition “Ecos del Océano”, for one afternoon only.

Can you imagine meditating under the sea without leaving central Madrid? Espacio Fundación Telefónica makes it possible with a proposal as unusual as it is relaxing. On Tuesday 15 July 2025, visitors to the exhibition «Ecos del Océano» will be able to take part in a free guided meditation session in an environment that simulates the seabed with real sounds, 360-degree projections and an atmosphere that invites introspection.

The event, entitled «Encuentro de Meditación. Ecos del Océano», will take place from 19:00 to 20:00 h in the exhibition's main installation, an immersive room that recreates ocean echoes from a whale's perspective. Through a movement practice guided by instructors Paloma Dorado and Lourdes Vargas, attendees will be invited to breathe, feel and listen, allowing the sea's soundscapes to guide every step and thought.

The session will take place without shoes (but with socks), and admission is free with advance booking. The previous edition sold out quickly, so signing up as soon as possible is recommended. The exhibition, which will remain in Madrid until 12 October, has extended its schedule owing to its success with the public. This special activity is one of the few opportunities to experience the installation from a more intimate and sensory perspective. Five minutes from Gran Vía, Ecos del Océano is transformed for one hour into a sanctuary of calm in which to listen not only to the sea... but to oneself.
