Metro de Madrid and Teatro Real unveil exclusive products at Ópera

The Metro shop at Ópera is launching official Teatro Real merchandise, bringing together metro and art in the very heart of Madrid’s cultural scene.

The Ópera station on the Madrid Metro becomes a cultural hub with the arrival of official Teatro Real products in its shop. From mugs and bottles to candles bearing the emblematic logo, travellers can now take home a piece of Madrid's artistic heritage thanks to an agreement between Metro and the Teatro Real Foundation.

The station's concourse and corridors feature large-format vinyl displays with iconic images of the opera house and its best-known productions. In this way, Ópera becomes a cultural showcase for thousands of daily users, strengthening the link between mobility and art in the city.

This collaboration marks a milestone: Teatro Real is the first guest brand in the Metro shop, which plans to add products from other organisations soon. The range is expanding, and the shop is becoming a meeting point between travellers and culture.

The Ópera station celebrated its centenary last October, when Metro opened this shop in its main concourse. It joins those already existing in Plaza de Castilla, Sol, the exhibition of classic trains at Chamartín and the Nave de Motores de Pacífico museum.

To commemorate the hundred years, Metro launched, together with the San Ginés chocolate shop, a churro maker with chocolate and two decorated mugs, which quickly sold out among Madrid residents and tourists.

Since opening in 2012, Metro's corporate shop has expanded its catalogue with books, items for the home, children and pets, and even unique pieces such as the old Santiago Bernabéu signage, which disappeared within minutes. The Christmas jumper, meanwhile, continues to break sales records every year and has become an icon. In addition, all products are also available on the official website.
