Spain’s second star arrives on a Metro T-shirt
Spain’s second star is now travelling on the Metro as well. The Madrid company has launched a limited edition of its Line 2 retro T-shirt to celebrate the World Cup won on 19 July, with new details recalling the final and the national team’s second title.

The garment brings back the characteristic red of the line connecting Las Rosas with Cuatro Caminos, chosen because of its immediate association with the colours of Spain. Two gold stars now appear above the number two, one for the 2010 World Cup and another for the 2026 victory.
The design includes references to the final played in New York and to the two teams that contested the title. The words “Campeones del Mundo 2026” appear on the back, alongside the stars that make this version a different piece from the original collection.
The shirt retains the Metro FC crest, inspired by the well-known metro diamond. The result combines football aesthetics with recognisable elements of Madrid’s metro network, intended for those who collect products connected both to sport and to the city.
The special edition costs 29.95 euros and is sold in Metro shops at Sol, Ópera and Plaza de Castilla stations. It can also be bought online, although size availability will depend on stock as it is a limited run.
The new version is based on the collection presented in May, which linked different lines with World Cup-winning national teams. Spain was linked to Line 2, while other shirts took France, Brazil, Argentina and Germany as their reference.
In recent years, Metro has expanded its catalogue with sweatshirts, caps, accessories, toys and garments inspired by its graphic identity. Station shops have thus become a regular stop for tourists, transport enthusiasts and Madrid residents looking for objects connected to the city.
The shirt carries the celebration from the great squares to the platforms. Amid travellers in the official kit, flags still hanging from balconies and memories of the champions’ parade, the second star now finds its own place on the Metro map.
