More than 1,500 people share Sant Egidio's traditional Christmas meal in Barcelona

The traditional Christmas meal organised by the Sant Egidio community brought together around 1,500 people in Barcelona this year. The event, aimed mainly at people in need, the homeless, the elderly, and refugees, was held at the Justo y Pastor basilica as well as at eight other locations across the city.
Volunteers from the community played an active role in organising the event, highlighting its warm, family atmosphere. Sant Egidio describes this lunch as an opportunity to share and build bonds of solidarity among those attending.
Similar initiatives took place in other cities in Catalonia, reaching a total of around 2,500 people. The aim is to offer not only a meal, but also companionship and support during the holiday season.
