Música Z returns to Barcelona: free concerts at 12 civic centres

Barcelona welcomes the fifth edition of Música Z, the series of commented auditions that begins on 9 January and runs until 27 March 2026. This year, the event brings together young talents from the city’s leading higher music schools, who will perform at twelve civic centres across different districts. Admission is free and the programme promises a variety of musical styles and proposals.

The project, promoted by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona together with the higher schools and the Xarxa de Centres Cívics, has established itself since 2022 as a key platform for emerging music. Over three months, nearly fifty auditions will allow the public to discover groups such as Bob Greenhill, Charming trouble, Dani y Frida, Darkside, Daju, Pinceladas, Pulso, Eugenia Correia, Glass out, Groove street, Iris flamencas, Last minute, a saxophone quartet, Saüc, Quatre Lares, Zhade and the podcast No me llames melómano.

The concerts will take place at centres including CC Sagrada Família (Eixample), CC El Carmel (Horta-Guinardó), CC Josep Maria Trias i Peitx (Les Corts), CC Can Verdaguer and CC Torre Llobeta (Nou Barris), CC Navas and CC Trinitat Vella (Sant Andreu), CC El Sortidor (Sants-Montjuïc), CC Casa Orlandai, CC Pere Pruna and CC Vil·la Florida (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi), and CC Can Felipa (Sant Martí), which joins the circuit this year.

Seventeen groups from the Conservatori Superior de Música Liceu, Taller de músics Escola Superior d’Estudis Musicals, Centre Superior de Música Jam Session and ESMUC are taking part. Each civic centre will host four performances, making a total of 48 concerts across the city.

Admission to the concerts is free until capacity is reached, although most centres recommend booking through their websites. Booking is not necessary at Can Verdaguer and El Carmel. The full programme is available on the series’ official website.
