New art, history and photography workshops in Las Rozas this winter

Fundación Cultura Las Rozas has presented a renewed programme of educational workshops for this winter, focusing on art, cultural history and contemporary photography. The council has announced three new seminars that seek to attract diverse audiences and encourage active learning.

The first, ‘Crónicas del Madrid de los Austrias’, began on 13 January and proposes exploring the life and customs of Madrid in the Edad Moderna. The series includes six specialised classes and four guided visits around the city, addressing subjects such as charity, parish organisation and the former royal sites. Historians Rafael Gil Ruiz and Fernando Velasco Medina lead this programme, with registration open until 20 February.

The seminar ‘Arte y culturas del mundo antiguo’ invites participants to immerse themselves in the artistic richness of historical civilisations, analysing cultural exchanges between Oriente y Occidente. The course highlights the formal and symbolic diversity of ancient artistic expressions.

For its part, ‘Tiempos de Cultura’ returns to Teatro Las Cigüeñas de Hoyo de Manzanares, under the direction of Amparo Duñaiturria. This series, which runs from 28 January to 18 March at Café Teatro del Centro Cultural La Marazuela, includes an exclusive visit to Museo de América.

The offer is completed by the ‘Fotografía contemporánea’ course, which explores current trends and movements in artistic photography. Juan Curto Vivas, founder of Cámara Oscura Galería de Arte, teaches this practical workshop from 5 February to 26 March, also at Café Teatro de La Marazuela.
