Vía Complutense will have partial closures for a week in Alcalá
Vía Complutense in Alcalá de Henares will have traffic restrictions between Monday 31 August and Sunday 6 September. The works will affect the stretch opposite Carrefour, between the San Jerónimo de Sola roundabout and the junction with Calle Ribera, although the avenue will remain open.
The disruptions will occur between 7:00 and 20:00. During that period there will be partial and intermittent lane narrowings in both directions, so those using this route to cross the city may encounter temporary changes to traffic flow.
There are no plans to close the entire Vía Complutense at the same time. The works will progress in phases and successively in each direction precisely in order to keep vehicles moving while the work is completed.
The work will be carried out on the expansion joints of the Complutense II underground car park, located opposite the Carrefour shopping centre. It is therefore not work along the entire length of the avenue, but a disruption concentrated in this section.
Parking will also be prohibited in the areas directly affected by the works. The restriction will apply in the marked spaces, so drivers who usually park along this stretch should check the temporary signage before leaving their vehicle.
The Local Police recommend reducing speed and paying particular attention when passing through the area, as the lane configuration may change as the works move from one phase to another.
The restrictions are scheduled to last until Sunday 6 September. While they are in force, the main difference for journeys along Vía Complutense will be temporary lane reductions, not a complete closure of this Alcalá route.
