Olot protests the bypass while Illa presents a €470 million project to connect Olot and Les Preses

Updated: The Govern has now set a date for the Olot and Les Preses bypass: it plans to put it out to tender this year, start work in 2027 and open the new connection in 2031. Investment remains at 470 million euros, with 450 million for the works and 20 million for compensatory and complementary measures.

During the presentation, Salvador Illa defended the bypass as a ‘new paradigm’ and said that the project envisages an investment of 470 million euros, with around 40% of the route underground. According to the Govern, the works could last around five years and will be carried out in five lots, as well as incorporating compensatory measures and urban integration.
