Pantalla Barcelona brings the best free cinema to 23 civic centres in the city

Pantalla Barcelona once again transforms neighbourhoods into cinemas. The 15th edition, organised by the Institut de Cultura, begins on 21 October and runs until 26 March. During these months, 23 civic centres in Barcelona’s 10 districts will host 167 free screenings, with no advance booking required.

The autumn edition opts for an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, moving away from summer’s open-air cinema. This year, the programme revolves around the power of community, with films that invite collective reflection.

Tickets are completely free and admission is open until capacity is reached. The cycle includes international and national titles, as well as a careful selection of short films.

In January 2026, the programme begins on Friday 9 with “Guillot i llebre salven el bosc” at Cotxeres Borrell and “Atlantique” at Can Basté. On Tuesday 13, “Sirocco y el reino de los vientos” arrives at CC del Besòs i el Maresme, while “el 47” is screened at Pati Llimona. On Wednesday 14, “Salvatges” can be seen at La Sedeta and Zona Nord, and “La estrella azul” at Cotxeres de Sants.

On Thursday 15, Auditori Sant Martí hosts “Pride”. On Friday 16, “Sirocco y el reino de los vientos” is screened at Joan Oliver – Pere Quart and “el 47” at Zona Nord. On Saturday 17, “L’illa dels ocells” arrives at Urgell, and on Sunday 18, “L’univers en miniatura de no-no” is presented at Teixonera.

The cycle continues with “Pride” at Can Clariana Cultural on Tuesday 20, “el 47” at La Sedeta on Wednesday 21, and “Los buenos profesores” at Josep Maria Trias i Peitx on Thursday 22. On that same day, “Atlantique” is screened at La Sagrera – La Barraca.

On Friday 23, “Hola, Frida!” and “Guillot i llebre salven el bosc” arrive at Vil·la Urània and Bon Pastor, respectively, while “el 47” will be shown at Casa Groga. On Saturday 24, “L’illa dels ocells” and “Salvatges” are screened at Casa Groga and Auditori Sant Martí. On Sunday 25, “L’univers en miniatura de no-no” is presented at Sala Maremar.

On Wednesday 28, “Pride” returns to Cotxeres de Sants. On Thursday 29, CC Ateneu Fort Pienc hosts another “Pride” session. On Friday 30, “Sirocco y el reino de los vientos” is screened at Baró Viver. On Saturday 31, “Lola y el piano trencaclosques” arrives at Matas i Ramis and “Salvatges” at Can Clariana Cultural.

Among the prominent titles in this edition are “Atlantique” by Mati Diop, “El 47” by Marcel Barrena, “El sueño de la sultana” by Isabel Herguera, the documentary “Ellas en la ciudad” by Reyes Gallegos, “Los buenos profesores” by Thomas Lilti, “Los reyes del mundo” by Laura Mora, “The old Oak” by Ken Loach, “La estrella azul” by Javier Macipe, “Las chicas están bien” by Itsaso Arana, “Houria” by Mounia Meddour and “Pride” by Matthew Warchus. In addition, a special session of four short films produced by the CCCB and Dones Visuals, focusing on collective memory and urban transformation, will be screened.

The Petit Pantalla cycle is intended for children and family audiences. The offerings include “Ernest & Celestine, cuentos de primavera”, “Guillot y Liebre salvan el bosque”, “Hola, Frida!”, “L’illa dels ocells”, “L’univers en miniatura de No-No”, “Lola y el piano trencaclosques”, “Salvatges” and “Sirocco y el reino de los vientos”.
