Playmobil takes over Barajas: 2,000 figures turn the airport's T2 into an unexpected exhibition

The free exhibition is the work of Asociación Española de Coleccionistas de Playmobil (Aesclick), a non-profit collective that has spent years using these iconic toys as a tool for outreach, entertainment and social action. On this occasion, it has designed five dioramas of six square metres each, representing scenes as varied as a medieval tournament, the Wild West, ships on the high seas, an urban setting and a Jurassic landscape. Each model is carefully decorated with all kinds of accessories: animals, furniture, vegetation and transport that enrich each scene and bring the Playmobil universe to life. This is not the first time the airport has become a stage for the famous “clicks”. In October 2023 and during Christmas 2017, Barajas already hosted other similar exhibitions that were notably well received by the public. Now, once again, everyday life is interrupted by a playful interlude that fascinates both children and nostalgic adults. The exhibition can be visited continuously until Saturday 10 May. Meanwhile, those travelling through Barajas can discover that, between connections and boarding, there is also room for wonder.
