Pozuelo will be the first municipality outside Madrid to have Bicimad
Pozuelo de Alarcón will take a key step in mobility this summer by becoming the first municipality outside Madrid to integrate the Bicimad system.
The network will have 30 stations and 390 electric bicycles, designed to connect universities, Cercanías stations, and shopping areas. The aim is to make daily commutes easier and reduce the use of private cars in one of the municipalities with the highest academic and business activity.
The expansion is possible thanks to the new ordinance promoted by the Ayuntamiento de Madrid, which allows the service to be extended to other municipalities. For users, this will mean a smoother connection between Pozuelo and the capital.
Bicimad, which already has more than 650 stations in Madrid, is thus strengthening its role as a sustainable transport alternative. Its arrival in Pozuelo marks a new step towards more integrated and efficient metropolitan mobility.
