Crackdown on narcopisos in Madrid: over 30 arrested in several neighbourhoods

The operation has made it possible to seize more than six kilos of substances, weapons and 42,000 euros in cash. For many residents, especially in areas such as Tetuán or Carabanchel, the intervention offers relief after months of complaints about insecurity and problems of coexistence.

The actions have been carried out in stages. In Parla, the investigation began in a flat where stolen objects were exchanged for drugs. In Tetuán, three dwellings operated as points of consumption and distribution. Elsewhere, such as Ciudad Lineal or Villa de Vallecas, the activity had adapted to new forms, from scooter deliveries to plantations aimed at the international market.

The scope of the operation shows how the phenomenon has spread across different types of neighbourhood. From central areas to municipalities in the metropolitan area, drug flats have been occupying homes in everyday settings, directly affecting the daily lives of those who live nearby.

The police strategy now aims to cut these points off at the root, acting simultaneously to prevent the networks from reorganising quickly. Coordination between units and municipalities has become one of the keys to the operation.

Beyond the figures, the impact is visible in the city. Drug flats disrupt not only safety, but also coexistence in residential communities. The growing police pressure seeks to recover these spaces and restore a degree of normality to neighbourhoods where the problem had become routine.
