Maximum security at Rayo Vallecano–AEK Athens
The Vallecas neighbourhood is preparing for a different kind of evening. The match between Rayo Vallecano and AEK Athens has been classified as high risk, which will activate a broad security operation around the stadium.
Around 370 personnel will oversee the event, with specialised units from the Policía Nacional present, supported by Policía Municipal, medical services, and private security staff.
Among the measures adopted are a ban on selling tickets at the box office on the day of the match, reinforced checks at entrances, and the creation of specific areas for visiting fans.
More than 700 AEK supporters are expected to arrive, in a stadium that will bring together around 15,000 people. This number requires heightened coordination to prevent incidents and ensure everyone gets along.
The operation will also affect mobility around the Estadio Municipal de Vallecas. Authorities recommend arriving early to avoid crowds and make security checks easier.
On European nights, Vallecas changes pace. Football draws thousands of people and transforms the neighbourhood for a few hours, making it necessary to balance the passion of the sport with the need for security in one of the city’s most intense areas.
