Renfe reinforces Avlo Madrid–Málaga trains after the Ouigo crisis

Renfe has decided to increase the capacity of its Avlo trains between Madrid and Málaga from this Friday until Sunday, following a wave of cancellations by the French operator Ouigo. The measure aims to make it easier for travellers affected by the suspension of services to get around.

On Friday, the Avlo train with double the usual number of seats will be the one departing from Málaga to Madrid at 14:24 and 17:33. On Saturday and Sunday, the extra capacity will focus on the trains leaving Madrid at 10:35 and arriving in Málaga at 13:44, on both days.

Renfe has not ruled out further increasing the service on this route, depending on demand and how the situation develops. The company had already reinforced the Madrid-Sevilla line since 9 January, also in response to Ouigo's cancellations, which will continue at least until 22 January.

The Spanish operator emphasises that its aim is to provide a solution for those left without a journey due to the suspension of services by the French competitor. Travellers will be able to take advantage of these additional seats over the coming days.
