Rioja celebrated its centenary in the heart of Madrid

The Spanish wine legend Rioja celebrated its centenary with a dazzling evening at the Cines Callao on Gran Vía.

Hundreds of guests, including famous actors, models and figures from the world of culture, gathered to toast the centenary of Spain's most renowned wine region. The evening was presented by Nieves Álvarez, and the festive atmosphere was completed by lights, music and, of course, wine.

Images of the vineyards and landscapes of La Rioja were projected onto the enormous screens in Callao Square, a gift for passers-by, who were able to feel part of the celebration. Inside, guests found a true theatre of wine: installations, Rioja-inspired gastronomy and tastings of hundreds of varieties. The evening ended with live music and dancing, at a pace worthy of the centenary of the only wine region in Spain with qualified designation of origin status.
