Rosalía surprises Barcelona with visits to Bodega La Palma and Bar Bocata

Rosalía once again makes her mark in Barcelona. The artist visits two iconic establishments. Find out why she chooses Bodega La Palma and Bar Bocata. Her passion for local gastronomy does not go unnoticed. Which dishes won her over this time? Read all the details.

Rosalía, the Catalan star with international reach, has once again made headlines in Barcelona, this time for her recent visits to two of the city’s most popular restaurants. The singer, known for her refined taste, chose the historic Bodega La Palma in the heart of the Gòtic neighbourhood and the new Bar Bocata in Gràcia to enjoy local cuisine.

Bodega La Palma, founded in 1935 and considered a landmark by the City Council, was Rosalía’s first stop. This venue, which began as a grocery store and became a bodega in 1940, has been a meeting point for artists and locals for decades. Family management, first with María and later her daughter Carme Castells, shaped the place’s history. Since 2005, Judit Giménez y Albert Rial have modernised the food offering without losing its essence: wine barrels, a wooden and marble bar, and a menu that combines vermouth classics with more elaborate dishes.

The second spot chosen by Rosalía was Bar Bocata, which opened in January 2024 on Travessera de Gràcia. This bar, run by Quim y Oriol, two friends from Banyoles, focuses on straightforward, homemade cooking. Dishes like tortillas, macaroni, and botifarras are served in a lively, popular atmosphere. The venue recently gained attention by organising a parade to Camp Nou, with free food and drink to celebrate FC Barcelona’s return to the stadium.

With these visits, Rosalía confirms her passion for Barcelona’s cuisine and her support for both historic venues and new culinary ventures in the city.
