SAGA 2025 brings gamers together with tournaments, prizes and over 70 exhibitors

SAGA, the gaming fair, returns to La Farga de L’Hospitalet de Llobregat from 28 to 30 November with an edition that promises to exceed expectations. More than seventy exhibitors, an 8,000-square-metre space and an agenda packed with talks, training sessions and competitions await attendees.

One of the main new features is the first official international ‘Super Smash Bros’ tournament in Catalan, which will have more than 180 participants and will be broadcast live. The event is also expanding the variety of games featured in competitions and adding a 56-hour LAN Party with 200 places, retro video game areas, driving simulators, virtual reality and 11-a-side football matches. Visitors will be able to follow the competitions on Twitch and take part in meet-ups with leading players.

SAGA is also strengthening the presence of game development companies, whose numbers have grown by 30% compared with the previous year and which will have a live programme to showcase their latest releases. The Premis SAGA ceremony will be one of the key moments, with ‘Neva’ and ‘Luto’ the favourites among the nominees. The awards will recognise excellence in storytelling, visual art, sound, gameplay, social impact and content creation in Catalan.

The event, organised by Plataforma per la Llengua with the support of the Generalitat, aims to consolidate Catalan in the world of video games and raise the profile of local companies. According to the organisers, SAGA has become a reference point for Catalan-speaking communities in the sector.

The fair will open its doors on Friday 28 November at 10:00 and close on Sunday 30 at 17:00. Tickets cost 7 euros per day or 15 euros for all three days, with special options for the LAN Party and tournaments, as well as discounts for members and young people.

The official presentation took place on 19 November in Barcelona, where institutional representatives highlighted SAGA's role in promoting Catalan in video games. This year, 74% of video games created in Catalunya already include Catalan, a significant step forward in a sector dominated by English and Chinese.
