San Antón 2026 in Madrid: full programme, dates and unmissable activities

The Fiestas de San Antón 2026 arrive in Madrid with a programme packed with activities for animal lovers and the curious. From 16 to 18 January, the city becomes the epicentre of tradition, with the Galería de Cristal del Palacio de Cibeles and the Iglesia de San Antón as the main settings.

This year’s opening proclamation will be delivered by Luis Natalio Royo, territorial director of the ONCE in Madrid, marking the start of the celebrations. On 16 January, music from Marilia, of Ella Baila Sola, will open the afternoon at Cibeles, followed by the proclamation and interactive workshops on mobility and guide dogs.

On 17 January, the Iglesia de San Antón will host the traditional blessing of animals from 10:00, followed by the Misa Mayor and the popular San Antón circuits around the church. In the afternoon, the Eucharist will provide the religious conclusion to the day.

At the same time, the Palacio de Cibeles will open its doors at 10:00 and offer displays by the canine units of the Policía Municipal, Guardia Civil, Policía Nacional and the Centro Militar Canino de la Defensa. There will also be demonstrations by assistance dogs and children’s workshops, culminating in the participation of DogCity y Asr Animal Soul Rescue.

From 13 to 18 January, the Iglesia de San Antón will keep selling bread rolls from 10:00 to 20:00, a tradition that is never absent at this time of year.
