San Isidro 2026: 31 bullfights and the best bullfighters at Las Ventas

From 8 May to 6 June, the Las Ventas bullring will host 31 bullfights as part of the San Isidro 2026 fair. The line-up includes the leading bullfighters of today, and Andrés Roca Rey is the face of the season. This year’s motto is «Madrid, heart of bullfighting».

The presentation of the programme took place at the bullring itself, in the presence of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and José Luis Martínez-Almeida. That evening, the previous season was also reviewed and awards were presented: the Jarandilla cattle ranch was recognised as the best, Álvaro Fernández was awarded for his contribution to making bullfighting more popular among young people, Mariló Montero for developing the subject of women in bullfighting, and Sergio Ramos became an ambassador for bullfighting.

The programme includes performances by Alejandro Talavante, Sebastián Castella, José María Manzanares, Miguel Ángel Perera, Emilio de Justo and other famous matadors. They will face bulls from the leading Spanish cattle ranches. All bullfights will be broadcast by regional public television.

Last season broke the attendance record of the last ten years: Las Ventas brought together more than 576,000 spectators, with average occupancy of 93%.
