San Isidro 2026: concerts, parades and festivities across Madrid for ten days
Madrid changes pace in May with the arrival of the San Isidro festivities. For ten days, the city fills with concerts, parades and activities that turn squares, parks and neighbourhoods into meeting points for residents and visitors.
The start will be on 8 May in Plaza de la Villa, with the proclamation that will officially open the programme. From there, the festive atmosphere spreads across the city, with daily events combining tradition and current proposals.
The main stages will be distributed among spaces such as Plaza Mayor, Las Vistillas, Matadero and Pradera de San Isidro. Each will offer a different programme, from concerts to family activities, making it possible to move around the city according to the plan you are looking for each day.
Parades and itinerant events will take the festivities beyond the centre, bringing them closer to different neighbourhoods. Classic events such as the Feria de la Cacharrería also return, turning Plaza de las Comendadoras into a key point for discovering crafts and traditional Madrid atmosphere.
Music will be one of the great driving forces of the celebration, with events such as the Premios Rock Villa de Madrid, which bring together emerging bands and young audiences in an open-air setting. All this is concentrated into a week when there is always something to do, at any time.
