San Sebastián leads the ranking of Spain’s most expensive taxis in 2025

San Sebastián tops the list of the highest taxi fares. The price per kilometre exceeds 6 euros. Barcelona and Madrid are far from the top positions. Find out which cities are surprising in the ranking.

San Sebastián has positioned itself as the city with the most expensive taxi in all of Spain in 2025. According to the latest report analysing 57 cities, the price per kilometre on short journeys reaches €6.26 in the Gipuzkoan capital.

At the opposite end, Zaragoza closes the list with a fare of €3.02 per kilometre, less than half that of San Sebastián. The ranking also reveals that two Catalan cities, Lleida and Tarragona, are on the podium for the highest fares.

For their part, large cities such as Madrid and Barcelona do not feature among the most expensive, being relegated to much lower positions in the ranking. The study has surprised users and industry professionals.
