An outdoor public swimming pool will be built in Retiro

The first outdoor public swimming pool is planned for construction in the district of Retiro, with work possibly starting before the end of the year.

The authorities in Madrid have announced the construction of an outdoor swimming pool in the district of Retiro. The project is currently in development, and work is expected to begin before the end of the year.

Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida announced the decision during his speech at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Francisco Fernández Ochoa. He noted that it will be the first facility of its kind in Retiro and the third outdoor public swimming pool built in the city in recent decades.

The new facility will be part of the programme to expand the capital's sports infrastructure. The pool will be open to local residents and will complete the network of municipal facilities for sports and leisure.
