Six Madrid museums will be free this Saturday for Monument Day
Madrid adds a new cultural plan this Saturday for International Day for Monuments and Sites. Six key museums in the city will offer free admission throughout the day, making heritage accessible at no cost.
The spaces included are the Museo Arqueológico Nacional, Museo Nacional de Antropología, Museo del Romanticismo, Museo del Traje, Museo de América and Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas. Each keeps its own opening hours, with offerings ranging from historical pieces to more specialised collections.
The initiative forms part of an international call promoted by the Consejo Internacional de Monumentos y Sitios and supported by UNESCO. The aim is to bring culture to a wider audience and highlight heritage.
Other major museums that already have free periods in their regular opening hours are added to this offering, expanding the options for anyone wishing to organise a cultural itinerary during the day.
