The weather changes at Easter: rain and sun this weekend in Barcelona
Easter begins in Barcelona with a Thursday marked by clouds, occasional rain and wind, which may disrupt plans from early in the day. The instability will affect journeys and outdoor activities in key areas of the city.
Rainfall will be concentrated between the early hours and the morning, with periods of some intensity. After the rain, the sky will begin to clear, although the wind will remain and the sea will be rough. On the coast, including urban beaches such as Barceloneta, the swell may make walks and activities by the sea difficult.
Temperatures will fall, especially early in the day, leaving a cooler-than-usual atmosphere. Even so, the change will come quickly: from Friday, the weather will stabilise and the risk of rain will disappear.
The weekend will bring sunshine and a clear rise in temperatures. Places such as Parc de la Ciutadella and the terraces in the centre will fill up again, with much more favourable conditions for getting around the city.
The contrast will be evident in just a few days: from a grey, unsettled start to a fully spring-like atmosphere that will make it possible to resume outdoor plans without depending on an umbrella.
