Serenae and A Contracorriente Films will organise a film-screening competition for small municipalities
In Spain, small municipalities without cable internet connections will be able to apply to organise regular screenings of new releases thanks to a joint Serenae and A Contracorriente Films project.
The companies Serenae and A Contracorriente Films have announced the launch of the “Cinema Internet” project for Spanish municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants and no access to cable broadband. The winners will have the opportunity to organise public screenings of new releases for three months thanks to satellite internet.
Until 12 April, participants must submit a short vertical video with the idea for a film that could be shot in their area. A jury, in which the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge will take part, will select the five finalists, after which an online vote will be held.
The main prize includes weekly screenings, access to the A Contracorriente Films platform and a Serenae connection. The project aims to expand access to cultural content in areas with limited internet infrastructure.
