Hats and spring: what Passejada amb Barret will be like
Barcelona celebrates spring with one of its most original events. Passejada amb Barret returns this Sunday 12 April with a route open to everyone that will fill the city centre with colour and creativity.
The meeting point will be at 12:00 on the Rambla de Catalunya at the Diagonal, next to the well-known coquette giraffe. From there, participants will walk through the centre to the Plaça de Catalunya, where the event is expected to finish around 14:00.
No prior registration is required. All you need is a hat, whether classic, extravagant, or handmade. The variety is part of the appeal: every year you see everything from berets and bowlers to creations that turn the street into an impromptu catwalk.
The initiative began in 2005, led by the milliners Cristina de Prada y Nina Pawlowsky, with the idea of bringing back the use of hats and celebrating the arrival of good weather in a different way.
Over the years, the event has become an urban tradition that blends fashion, creativity, and community participation. Families, groups of friends, and the curious join in an experience that transforms the walk into a spectacle.
For a few hours, Barcelona changes pace and becomes a stage for collective expression. The city is experienced differently, in a more playful and spontaneous way, where what matters is not just the destination, but how you enjoy the journey.
