The Strokes return to Barcelona with their only date in Spain and a new album at Palau Sant Jordi

The Strokes return to Barcelona after more than two decades. They present their new album 'Reality awaits' at Palau Sant Jordi. There will only be one date in Spain. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Expectations are at their peak among fans.

Barcelona is preparing for one of the most anticipated concerts of 2026: The Strokes will perform at Palau Sant Jordi on 20 October, the only date they will offer in Spain this year. The news has stirred up the followers of the New York band, who had gone 23 years without seeing them in an indoor venue in the city. Since their legendary nights at Razzmatazz in 2002 and at Pavelló Olímpic de la Vall d'Hebron in 2003, they had only come through Barcelona in festival format, specifically at Primavera Sound in 2015 and 2022.

This time, Julian Casablancas and the rest of the group arrive with new material: the album 'Reality awaits', which will be released on 26 June. Six years after 'The new abnormal', the band is once again working with producer Rick Rubin and surprises with the first preview, 'Going shopping', where they experiment subtly with autotune. The album was recorded between Costa Rica and other international destinations, adding a note of mystery to its renewed sound.

Tickets for the Palau Sant Jordi concert will be available from Friday 17 April at 10:00 on livenation.es, Ticketmaster and El Corte Inglés. There will also be exclusive presales: on Wednesday 15 April for SMusic customers and on Thursday the 16th at Live Nation, both from 10:00. Demand promises to be extremely high, as this is the only opportunity to see The Strokes live in Spain this year.
