More options for flying to New York: Iberia expands routes from Barajas
Iberia is launching a new direct route between Madrid and Newark Liberty International Airport, taking daily flights to the New York area to three. The connection, operating from this Sunday at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, strengthens international mobility in the height of the summer season.
The first flight takes off at 19:35 and is operated with the Airbus A321XLR, a key model for medium-haul transatlantic routes. Newark, located near Manhattan's financial district, is positioned as a particularly attractive option for business travel. With this addition, travellers can choose between different airports in New York, which increases flexibility when organising journeys. The airline is thus responding to growing demand on one of its most strategic routes.The new development coincides with a significant increase in capacity. Iberia has scheduled more than 350,000 seats between Madrid and New York this summer, in addition to strengthening its North American network with new destinations such as Toronto and the consolidation of Orlando. Growth is also reflected in the total number of flights, which is increasing compared with last year. The company is committed to strengthening its presence in the transatlantic market at a time of high tourist and corporate demand.
