An immersive museum revolutionises the sensory experience in the heart of Madrid

The Museo de los Sentidos arrives in Madrid as a new cultural attraction for different plans. Newly opened on Calle Virgen de los Peligros, it offers an interactive route with more than 30 installations that challenge perception and turn the visit into an active experience for families, young people and adults. After succeeding in Milan, Prague and Bucharest, it lands in the centre of the Spanish capital with proposals such as ‘Agua Flotante’ (water that appears to defy gravity), the ‘Sala Amarilla’ (which removes colour), the ‘Sala del Silencio’ and the ‘Ciudad en la Oscuridad’, where visitors rely on their other senses.

Developed by creatives, engineers and specialists in human behaviour, the museum arouses curiosity, encourages learning and offers an educational and entertaining alternative minutes from Puerta del Sol. Tickets from €19 (with discounts and family packages); opening hours Sunday to Thursday 10:00-21:00, Fridays and Saturdays until 22:00. It officially opens on Friday 13 March. At the same time, Madrid launches Balloon Museum's ‘Euphoria – Art is in the Air’ (after Paris), with monumental installations, interactive works and vibrant colours that reinforce the trend for immersive experiences on the city's cultural calendar.

The area around Calle Virgen de los Peligros, a stone's throw from Puerta del Sol, has become in recent years a small epicentre of cultural and leisure proposals. Its location makes it easy to access both by public transport and on foot, and the opening of spaces such as the Museo de los Sentidos reinforces the vitality of an area that combines tradition, commerce and new trends.
