A journey through six countries from the window: the new night train between Poland and Croatia

From 27 June, a night train operated by PKP Intercity will connect Warsaw with Rijeka on the Croatian coast, crossing six countries on a journey of around 12 hours. The best part: tickets start at just €47.

This new service responds to growing interest in more sustainable and affordable forms of transport, avoiding airlines' extra charges and reducing the carbon footprint. Along its route of more than 1,200 kilometres, the train will pass through Poland, Czechia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, allowing travellers to wake up beside the Adriatic after a night on the rails.

The train will leave Warsaw at 14:00, pass through Vienna at 22:00 and join the Istria service from Budapest around midnight. After stopping in Ljubljana, it will arrive in Rijeka at around 09:00. The train will include sleeping cars and standard compartments, and will run until the end of August.
