A Madrid pizzeria is crowned the second best in Europe, according to 50 Top Pizza

Spain's most celebrated pizza in 2025 is in the heart of Madrid. The Baldoria restaurant, led by chef Ciro Cristiano, has been named the second-best pizzeria in Europe by the prestigious 50 Top Pizza Europa guide, surpassed only by Napoli On The Road in London. The recognition also makes it number one in Spain. Baldoria has won over the jury with its artisanal approach: slow-fermented Neapolitan dough, fresh ingredients and a perfect balance between tradition and creativity. Added to this is the award for the best cocktail menu (Sei Bellissimi Award), where combinations such as the Amalfi Tonic and the Truffle Negroni shine. Alongside Baldoria, other Spanish names appear in the European top ranking: Sartoria Panatieri (Barcelona, 3rd place), Fratelli Figurato (Madrid, 9th place), and La Balmesina (Barcelona, 11th place), among others. But in 2025, the continent's silver medal is served with San Marzano tomato and buffalo mozzarella... on a Madrid street.
