A 28-storey tower will transform urban life in Alcalá de Henares

Alcalá de Henares's skyline is about to change visibly. The city, known for its history and university atmosphere, will soon add its first residential skyscraper, a 28-storey building that will mark a before and after in the eastern part of the Comunidad de Madrid.

The project, promoted by Ten Brinke and Invesco Real Estate, will involve building the tallest structure in the city, exceeding the current La Garena tower, which has 17 storeys. This new tower will stand out not only for its size, but also for its function: it will house more than 300 homes intended exclusively for rent.

The homes will be designed to meet different needs. There will be family options, compact flats, premium types and flexible proposals designed for people seeking a modern lifestyle. Although rental prices have not yet been made public, the variety of formats points to attracting highly diverse profiles.

The building will have 25 storeys above ground, in addition to the ground floor and two basements. Ten Brinke explains that its objective is to create an architectural and social landmark that endures over time, integrating the new skyscraper into the everyday life of Alcalá.

Works will begin in the coming weeks, according to both companies. The impact will be immediate: the city's silhouette will change and the supply of rental housing will grow significantly, at a time when demand continues to rise across the region.

Alcalá de Henares, declared a World Heritage Site, has experienced an urban transformation in recent years that combines preservation of its historic centre with the arrival of new residential developments. The La Garena area, where the tower will be built, is an example of how the city seeks to balance tradition and modernity, adapting to the needs of people who live and work in Madrid's metropolitan environment.
