Twenty Madrid restaurants seek to win World's Best Cachopo

Madrid adds flavour and competition with the World's Best Cachopo contest. Twenty venues in the city are taking part in an international event that transforms March's food agenda. New options for those looking for different plans and Asturian flavours without leaving the capital.

Madrid becomes one of the main settings for the 'Best Cachopo in the World 2026' competition during March. The contest brings together one hundred restaurants from Spain and abroad (Asturias, Galicia, the Basque Country, Mexico, the US, France, Peru, the Dominican Republic…), with twenty Madrid establishments competing in four categories: meat cachopo, fish cachopo, gluten-free and vegan. The jury will announce the winner in Oviedo, but until 31 March participants offer their cachopo proposal with a drink (traditional cider or two soft drinks) and garnish, from €28.50. Many venues allow home delivery.

Among the Madrid competitors are Antológico (Alcalá de Henares), Casa Lulo, Casa Antonio, Cervecería Asgaya, Con 2 Fogones, El Antoju (Boadilla del Monte), El Escarpín, El Figón de Antxón (Alcalá de Henares), El Rincón Asturiano, Gasteizbar, La Muralla by Pichón, Los Extre Rock Bar, Mesón La Alhambra, Mi Tasca, Arrabal, Restaurante Bar Cruz, Restaurante Estébanez, Santamago, Sidrería La Mina and Yantar Sidrería Gastronómica. Others such as Hermanos Ordás, Couzapín, La Clave, La Dehesa, Teiutu, Ferreiro and La Madreña keep cachopo on their regular menus, bringing this emblematic Asturian dish to Madrid neighbourhoods and tables.

The contest not only boosts the city's culinary offering, but also invites people to discover new places and proposals, both for those seeking a traditional experience and for those who prefer options adapted to different diets.
