Vueling opens new routes from Barcelona to Slovenia and Morocco and reinforces its presence at El Prat

This Sunday, Vueling has inaugurated its first direct connection to Liubliana, the capital of Eslovenia, and a new route to Agadir, in southern Marruecos. Both will operate twice a week, although the Slovenian connection will add a third flight on Tuesdays during December.

The inaugural flight to Liubliana landed in the early afternoon and becomes the only direct route between the two capitals, a move that expands Barcelona's connectivity with Europa Central. Agadir, meanwhile, joins the airline's Moroccan network, which already operates in Essaouira and Marrakech. Flights to this coastal city will depart on Wednesdays and Sundays, consolidating Vueling's commitment to North Africa.

The airline — a subsidiary of the IAG— group — notes that these launches respond to the continued growth of its base at El Prat. In 2025, the company had already launched five other routes: Tivat (Montenegro), Rímini and Salerno (Italia), Essaouira (Marruecos) and Tirana (Albania). It also increased its seat offering by 9% during the high season and added three new aircraft in Barcelona.

With these two connections, Vueling reinforces its role as one of the major operators at Barcelona airport and maintains its strategy of diversifying destinations in emerging markets and on routes with little direct competition.
