A hidden viewpoint next to Plaza Mayor in Madrid reopens
Madrid brings back a little-known viewpoint in the heart of the city. The tower of the Parroquia de Santa Cruz is open again for guided tours, offering views of the city from over 50 metres high, just steps from Plaza Mayor.
Access requires climbing more than 260 steps, but the reward is a panoramic view stretching from Puerta del Sol to Retiro, taking in key landmarks such as Teatro Real and Plaza de España along the way.
Visits are organised on the last Saturday of each month, in two sessions, and cost 10 euros. The fee goes towards the building’s maintenance, making the experience a way to support heritage.
